She was born March 29th 1985. She was born in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michelle was her maiden name. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Stevenson is of Mexican heritage, but is American by nationality. Since her early years her drive to become engaged in sport was strong. Gerina was a golfer when she was just the age of 15. Gerina graduated from Goddard High School. She was the winner of the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. She was also an athlete in volleyball who played at the national level. At the age of 2003, she began her studies at the University of Texas. As a senior she took home the top prize in every competition she entered. In her college career, she was named Conference USA individual champion player of the year as well as UTEP Female Athletics Player of the Year.
